Nu Urban Records To File For Bankrupcy
Startling news this morning from out of the blue, Nu Urban records are into administration! There is no official word from the company on this as yet, but based on the industry wide reaction, it looks pretty certain.
This certainly is sad news and a massive blow for the drum & bass scene, Nu Urban were one of the biggest remaining distributors of vinyl, primarily focused on jump-up they gave many a young producer the chance to be heard and make something of themselves.
Many smaller labels who used the service for mp3 distribution have also been hit, with many already tweeting loss of earnings.
Labels that are known to deal with Nu Urban include Doctor P, Flux Pavilion, Circus Recordings, Playaz, Viper, Undiluted, Spearhead, Congo Natty, Charge, Clear Skyz, Audio Porn and Hustle Audio.
So is this another nail in the coffin of vinyl? Have your say in the comments.
It’s now official! Quote:
