Critical X Compilation (Critical Records)

CRITXLTDS

Up for grabs this christmas are some long awaited VIP’s and remixes coming straight from kasras dub-plate, sex-fest of a record box.

£7.99 will bag you a vinyl with So Real (Mefjus Remix) and Surface VIP aswell as 16 tracks over download! Not bad.

Not all these tracks are new, this is more of a retrospective on some bangers that have been lost in the years of new music and deserve a dust off from the archives for another rinse-out.

Critical are leading the way when it comes to keeping vinyl alive, I think Kasra understands that its turning into more of a collectors thing. I dont know many people that go out of their way to bag £30 of records each week, its much easier and cheaper to stock up on digital nowadays.

You can only bag this bundle from Surus: http://www.surus.co.uk/Critical-Music/Surface-VIP-So-Real-(Mefjus-Remix)-20167.aspx

from the 7th Dec.

The vinyl will be available from other outlets shortly after.

Drum & Bass On Demand LP (Demand Records)

Swiss label; Demand records has rocketed from relative obscurity to a household name in only a year thanks to the calibre of music its releasing. Theres no denying that they aim high, and deliver. Looking back to their first ever release, they got spectrasoul on remix duties. You dont do that if your looking to start a small label, go big or go home.

The past year has seen a release list with some top quality names from the likes of BTK, Lenzman, LSB, Clarity, Spinline, I could go on but you get the picture. Safe to say you’d be mad not to check out their back catalogue.

Coming at you on the 26th of November 2012 is Demand’s very first LP: Drum & Bass On Demand

A few previews are surfacing slowly but surely:

This ones set to be heavy.

Special release coming to Surus, so watch the skies 😉

CRIT066 – Injustice/Affliction – Foreign Concept/Sabre/Riya

More new music coming out of the woodwork today, and its not even a monday!

Something a little different from usual coming from the Critical camp this time and if the names are anything to go by, you know its gonna be a smasher; Foreign Concept, Sabre & Riya. Nice.

Now Riya is pretty much the queen of liquid dnb, with a rock solid foundation paired up alongside Lenzman or Total Science. She’s not a total stranger to the Critical sound though with smash hits like Enei’s No Fear, but I wouldn’t expect to see her name next to these other two heavyweights on Critical.

Its a good combo though! She’s tamed the snarling beats of Foreign Concept with a smooth deep roller that still maintains touches of their tech dnb roots with industrial style percussion.

Sabre’s no stranger to deep rolling beats, and a really nice match to Riya. An upbeat jazzy number with elegant off key piano licks piercing and reverberating through Riya’s dulcet tones. I could picture this one in a jazz club surrounded by smoke and red lights.

Overall; lovely listening and a really different taste from Critical Music.

Out now on Surus! Only 50 Vinyl copies of this pre-release edition available, all come with a sticker and poster!

Octane & DLR – Method In The Madness

The long awaited Octane & DLR album hits the stores today!

Carving their very own groove in the musical world; Octane & DLR (otherwise known as Chris & Jay) have been amazing us with great music since 2010 having released on Renegade Hardware, Run DNB, Audio Tactics and of course initially and most regularly on Dispatch Recordings.
This extremely talented duo have been beavering away in the studio for the last 12 months (and then some!) compiling an album which is now complete and ready to be unleashed.

The full 17 track collection will be released on CD featuring collab work alongside select artists such Break, Cern and EBK as well as guest vocalists and MC’s Fokus, Kemo, Gusto and Marion. Only selected tracks from the 17 are being pressed to vinyl. The CD format features exclusively hand-drawn artwork from Nate (at Southpaw designs) adorned across its packaging and the CD itself within does contain 3 tracks + interludes that are completely exclusive to the format with the first 50 buyers receiving an exclusive

Go bag yourself a copy NOW from their Surus store, this one is NOT to be missed! http://www.surus.co.uk/Dispatch-Recordings/Method-In-The-Madness-18460.aspx

Organiser (Foreign Concept Remix) / One Chance (Emperor Remix) Spectrasoul / Enei – CRIT65

Released today (Friday 24th Aug) which is a little odd seeing as most fresh releases drop on a monday, but far be it from me to complain!

Friction has had these on dubs for a while and they have been rinsed quite thoroughly by the Critical crew.

Regardless, you’d be a fool not to want these tracks in the record bag.

I suspect theyre a limited run so dont rest on your laurels, bag that shit!
