My days its been a busy month! Playing out every weekend has been a lot of fun, and I’ve saved the best till last.
Catch me supporting this ridiculous lineup over at detonate on the 22nd. I’ll be in the room with Calibre, Dub-Phizix and Enei. Bosh!
When this landed in my inbox I had to change pants, my two favourite tracks of last year remixed by my two favourite artists. Who could ask for more?
Love So True VIP is a great take on an already amazing track, rather than pad it out with re-processed versions of the same sound, theres been many additions to the entire song and the intro is still a game changer on any dancefloor. That drop has been chiselled up into a bone breaker and generally twisted into an altogether heavier track, two thumbs up!
Watch Out came on symmetry late last year from a collab Eastcolors and Enei. It was a defining track for Eastcolors, and one that signalled a new direction for the young artist.
It was a quality tune in its own right, but when I heard Enei got his hands on it for remix duties, my curiosity couldn’t be contained.
It is a great remix, but there are elements that dont sit as well as in the original. That bass hit is tough, but sounds out by a fraction of a second, enough to instil confusion.
The vocal is an oddity too. Whilst its a wicked lick and sits in the song fine, don’t double drop it or layer it up. It’s off from the classic 4:4 of many tracks and makes my brain hurt as a listener.
This’ll make an incredible 12″ and is out at the beginning of March!
For all you guys who missed the live show on Livity FM last night, heres the recording 🙂
The long awaited debut LP from Enei has been announced! I needn’t really say much more aside from its sounding massive!
So go listen!
Bangin’ I’m sure you’ll agree, the vinyl looks set to have some wicked tracks on it too. If youre a bit of a fanatic like myself, the bundle deal is a must buy.
Loads of cool bits come with this, including an exclusive 10″ plus artwork. Dont sleep on it, theyre gonna go like hotcakes!
Released today (Friday 24th Aug) which is a little odd seeing as most fresh releases drop on a monday, but far be it from me to complain!
Friction has had these on dubs for a while and they have been rinsed quite thoroughly by the Critical crew.
Regardless, you’d be a fool not to want these tracks in the record bag.
I suspect theyre a limited run so dont rest on your laurels, bag that shit!

Cutting his teeth and touring worldwide with the legendary Good Looking label, his soulful style on the mic and honest lyrics are unmatched. To show the versatility and wide appeal of his unique style, in 2012 he has now become part of the Toddla T sound system as Toddla T’s official MC. On top of all these achievements, DRS is also head of the Estate Recordings label in Manchester, part of hip-hop crew Broke’n’English, (alongside fellow MC Strategy and DJ Konny Kon), and a respected recording artist in his own right with a massive hit ‘D.F.T.F’ on Metalheadz alongside Need For Mirrors kicking off what promises to be the best year yet for this talented Mancunian.
His recent output including the massive Count To Ten with Enei and Holding On with Lenzman have really set the bar high for the rest of his new album, but we wont be dissapointed. A quick flick through the tracklist reveals an album literally brimming with talent:

3. Autonomic (Prod. dBridge)
4. Do What? (Prod. Genotype)
